Climate-KIC creates opportunities for innovators to address climate change and shape the world’s next economy. We accelerate innovation that enables a low-carbon future. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for cleantech potential. Next to ClimateLaunchpad, Climate-KIC Accelerator is one of our key activities to help entrepreneurs think, act and grow big.
Where great ideas grow into great businesses. Climate-KIC Accelerator is the world’s first real-life business school for promising cleantech entrepreneurs. In three stages, the 18-month program works with start-ups to get funded and launch their products worldwide.
Stage 1: Fundamentals
We train you in the (sometimes dark) arts of market analyses and finding beachhead markets for your idea. You learn about your customer and the different ways you can get your product into their hands. You get to figure out how to make money from your product and scale your business. You’ll work alongside fellow and like-minded entrepreneurs in peer-to-peer sessions. Depending on where you follow this program, this stage comes with a grant of up to € 20,000.
Stage 2: Validation
Time to get out of the building and talk to (at least) 100 customers. We want you to think really big from the start, so half of those customers will be outside of your own country. We train your interview skills to make sure you get the information you need to really validate your hypothesis. And of course, you get access to the vast business network of our coaches and mentors. The funding in Stage 2 is meant to cover your travel costs and could come with grants up to € 25,000 additional funding.
Stage 3: Delivery
Once you have identified your beachhead market and validated your business model through customer discovery it’s time to deliver. Get your business ready for take-off. We support you in finding launching customers, development partners or investors. This final stage, you may get up to € 50,000 additional funding.
Climate-KIC Accelerator is run from all Co-location Centres (France, Germany, the Netherlands, Nordics and Switzerland).
