Our National Leads for Norway

Meet Lars, Ingrid & Nicoline our National Leads for Norway!

What is your background?
We are both students at the NTNU School of Entrepreneurship (NSE), and our backgrounds are from Civil and Mechanical Engineering respectively. The NSE is a two-year master degree programme with a focus on business development and technology-based entrepreneurship. The programme combines academic insight with hands-on experience. Through three semesters we are developing a business idea of our own choice to ensure its commercial success. Nicoline is developing an improved activity equipment for people with disabilities. Ingrid is working on an offshore desalination plant for freshwater production. Through the courses at the NSE we are taught principles in business strategy and international marketing – as well as holding great pitches and secure funding. NSE´s vision is to educate the best business developers in the world – and we are striving to be good examples of their vision!

Why did you become a country lead / why does your organisation want to arrange ClimateLaunchpad in your country?
We live by the NSE’s vision: “Not because it is easy” – and saving the world certainly isn’t! That however does not mean that one should not try. We aim to promote the best green solutions that Norway has to offer, because we think that these solutions can make real changes in a global perspective.

Why do you think this competition is important?
We believe that competition is important because there has never been such a high focus on the environment, on sustainability and green solutions as there is today. It is therefore of great importance to separate the brilliant ideas from the rest – and make sure that the right people with the right ideas get the chance to realize their ideas. We think that Climate Launchpad is the perfect platform for this!

How does your organisation support clean tech start-ups?
At the Norwegian University of Science and Technology there is an inspiring network of organisations that facilitates startups. The most eminent organisations are the NSE, Start NTNU and Spark – who are all motivating their startups to aim for the sky and to make a difference in the world.

NTNU is the proud host of the Climate-KIC Greenhouse student incubator in Norway, and we actively manage and coordinate the Norwegian branch of Climate-KIC Accelerator in the Nordic region.
