Our Team for Sweden

Meet Sara, our National Lead for Sweden!

What is your background?
I was responsible of organising the first edition of ClimateLaunchpad. From when there was nothing early 2014, until we kick-started the second year in 28 different countries 2015.

What has taught me the most in life has been living in different countries around the globe as well as challenging myself into doing things out of my comfort zone I did not know how to do. This has made me very independent and confident in believing that anything is possible: you just have to tackle the challenge!

Why did you become a country lead?
The year I worked for Climate-KIC organising ClimateLaunchpad was one of the most exciting things I have ever done. ClimateLaunchpad has become a real community, bringing like-minded together. You become part of something big and important that really makes a difference. The atmosphere is vibrating with energy. People are having fun and inspire one another.

With so much passion and inspiration in one community, not just from the start ups but also from the organisers, the country leads, the partners and the sponsors. How could you not want to be part of it?

Why do you think this competition is so important?
Entrepreneurs are agents of change who drive progress and society forward. They are a crucial force in the economic growth and welfare. With major challenges of climate change upon us as well as restrictions of earth resources, sustainability must be the new key driver and the base of all innovation.

In order for start ups to grow into a leading and game changing businesses they need proper tools and coaching, resources and funding, international exposure as well as a solid network.

ClimateLaunchpad gives them access to all of this. What makes ClimateLaunchpad unique for start ups is the access to such a major international clean tech network and arena, now with 34 countries working together towards a more sustainable future and growth.

How does your organisation support cleantech start-ups?
In 2017, ClimateLaunchpad Sweden will be organised in collaboration with different leading organisations in Sweden. Our boot camp will take place at Chalmers in Gothenburg on collaboration with Chalmers Venture who run four different programs to boost entrepreneurship and innovation: Encubation, Acceleration, Technology Transfer and Startup Camp.

The National Final will take place at Lund University in collaboration with VentureLab who focus on Inspiration to entrepreneurship and innovation, Idea development and finally Incubation.

As a National prize, Sustainable start is giving the top three start ups a two-day work shop in the Framework for Systemic Business Innovation where the start ups will be given the tools for a more sustainable design thinking when developing their business model further.
