Our National Leads for UK (London)

Meet Andrew, our National Lead for London!

What is your background?
Andrew Mitchell has developed cleantech and digital entrepreneurship education in Europe, China, India, Australia and America; for organisations including The Cambridge-MIT Institute, ScottishPower and the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation.

Why did you become a country lead / why does your organisation want to arrange ClimateLaunchpad in your country?
Excited about the breadth, depth and quality of innovative ideas in London, with the potential to tackle climate change, I’m motivated to showcase and celebrate this across Europe and globally.

Why do you think this competition is so important?
As a nation blessed with so much of Europe’s renewable energy resource, yet heavily dependent on hydrocarbons, I hope ClimateLaunchpad can help the UK make a low carbon economy transition.

How does your organisation support clean tech start-ups?
CleanwebFactory develops and delivers practical ‘just-in-time’ education for startups. Covering sales, marketing, finance and leadership. Andrew founded Informatics Ventures, which has helped startups raise over €400 million in venture finance.
