We are delighted to invite you to the five upcoming ClimateBasics Learning Sessions.  

Join EIT Climate-KIC subject experts as they take you through these important issues around climate change in an interactive and accessible way. Buckle up and learn about the challenges and the opportunities, and what it means for you, your business, and the environment around you. 

 

Webinar 1: Climate 101 with Inés Mas, June 4, 09:30 – 11:00. 

This webinar will cover the fundamentals of the climate crisis, including the causes and impacts of climate change. Participants will gain a solid understanding of key concepts and the current state of our climate. 

Webinar 2: Adaptation: Adaptation 101 with Inés Mas, June 7, 09:30 – 11:00. 

This webinar will explore the basic principles of adaptation, highlighting practical approaches and case studies from start-ups working on this field, demonstrating how communities and organizations can build resilience to climate impacts through innovation. 

Webinar 3: Adaptation: Designing Adaptation & Resilience Business Models for Agriculture & Forestry with Nick Brooks and Christine Roehrer, June 11, 11:00 – 13:00. 

Nick Brooks and Christine Roehrer will lead this in-depth session focused on creating sustainable business models for agriculture and forestry in the face of climate change.  

Webinar 4: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Thea Bohol, June 18, 10:00 – 11:30. 

Thea Bohol will discuss the critical importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in climate-focused start-ups. This webinar will provide insights into the benefits of DEI, practical steps for fostering inclusive environments, and how to address common challenges in promoting equity. 

Webinar 5: Ocean Literacy and Sustainable Blue Economy with Inés Mas, June 27, 09:30 – 11:00. 

Inés Mas will delve into the concept of the Blue Economy and the principles of Oceal Literacy, covering key principles, current trends, and opportunities for innovation. This session will look at how the Ocean influences human life and how human activities influence the ocean. We will use a ‘systems thinking’ lens to dive deep into the ocean as a system and observe how everything is interconnected.
