Good to know:
In Australia we are running Boot Camps online and in person, available to any resident across the whole country with a stable internet connection. Bootcamps will run over three days in the afternoon.
After boot camps and training, all teams will have the opportunity to pitch in front of judges at pitch panels for the boot camp they attended, and the top 2 from each boot camp will move onto the Australian National Finals, which will be held in August. If the COVID-situation allows for an in-person National Final to take place, Climate-KIC Australia will support finalists with a travel grant to be able to attend, otherwise the event takes place online. Teams will pitch to industry-renowned judges and the top 3 teams will represent Australia at the Regional International Finals where they pitch in front of the region’s best and brightest. The crème de la crème are chosen to compete in the digital Global Grand Final.
Meet your National Leads of ClimateLaunchpad Australia
What is your background?
ClimateLaunchpad will be coordinated in 2021 by Sina Lengelsen – Climate-KIC Australia’s National Innovation Program Manager, Jessica Hyne – Climate-KIC Australia’s Marketing and Communications Lead and Will Soutar – Climate-KIC Australia’s Director of Business Development. With our strong networks within the industry, our experience with running the ClimateLaunchpad program in Australia, and experience in harnessing innovation to build and drive high performance teams, the Climate-KIC Australia ClimateLaunchpad team is well equipped to point the next generation of climate change innovators in the right direction.
Why did you become a National Lead?
Climate-KIC Australia offers a new way to link businesses, entrepreneurs, research, investors, and government to address the challenges and harness the opportunities of climate change. We are a sister organisation to EIT Climate-KIC.
How does your organisation support clean tech start-ups?
We offer a suite of innovation and education programs built on the experience of Climate-KIC in Europe that are customised to the Australian market. Through our delivery partners across Australia we provide access to mentors, decision makers, investors, research expertise and acceleration opportunities. https://climate-kic.org.au/our-programs/
