Our Team for India – Maharashtra
Meet Jui Joshi, our National Lead for Maharashtra!
What is your background?
Having an experience of working on ground in the development sector, specially in education for several years, I shifted my focus to sustainability. I have a masters degree in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from Tata institute of Social Sciences. As a sustainability consultant, I have worked for over 2 years in impact assessments across Social, Human and Natural capital for corporates and public utilities.
I am now a part of PR Climate Studio and the Program Manager for ClimateLaunchpad, South Asia. I am managing 18 ClimateLaunchpad programs in South Asia with partner organisations as a part of Climate Collective.
Why did you become a country lead / why does your organisation want to arrange ClimateLaunchpad in your country?
The opportunity to become a lead is amazing. It paves the way to work with a network of dedicated people and to get all the stakeholders on a common platform through this program. It is a privilege to work with the innovators on ground and help enable a whole ecosystem to support these innovations scale up and effectively bring about a change.
Why do you think this competition is important?
This competition is important as it gives a global platform to early stage climate entrepreneurs to work on their innovation. Encouraging climate innovation is the need of the day, as we need fast growing scalable models to achieve the emission targets. With lack of support, majority of the innovations do not get the required traction and fizzle out. ClimateLaunchpad provides the right approach, support and mentor-ship to ensure that green ideas reach the market.
How does your organisation support clean tech start-ups?
At PR Climate studio we are passionate about building local ecosystems to support climate entrepreneurship. One of key programs is ClimateLaunchpad this year and we are doing 18 programs across South Asia. In the pipeline is Climate pitch, a platform to give seed funding to start-ups and dedicated accelerator tracks called Climate Runway.
