Our Team for North East
Meet Rituraj Borah, our National Lead for North East!
What is your background?
Sustainability, clean energy and urban strategies professional with over 13 years of experience in planning projects and delivering programs on green growth, low-emission development and climate resilient investments with focus on renewable energy infrastructure, energy efficiency, urban and related cross-sectoral issues. MS Energy Efficiency and Business Management degrees.
Why did you become a country lead / why does your organisation want to arrange ClimateLaunchpad in your country?
The north-east India region is significant in terms of its diverse bio-diversity, natural resources, and the conservation and preservation of its natural resources including forestry and wildlife are pertinent and direct actions for sustainable development. My focus is on promoting environmental sustainability in the region, and I collaborate with different stakeholders and partners on projects related to climate change, forestry, flooding & erosion, green transport, clean energy projects, etc. The ClimateLaunchpad initiative is a timely exposure for cleantech start-ups in the region to initiate a clean and green transformation, and my professional experience puts me in an advantageous position to act as a facilitator.
Why do you think this competition is important?
This competition serves as an integrated platform for ideas and cleantech startups to grow competitively from concept to a sustainable position. Given the vast thematic areas that one can apply to, ClimateLaunchpad provides an opportunity to innovators, academia, students, etc. to provide solutions for challenging problems in agricultural productivity, forestry, water, air-pollution, etc., while also tackling the overarching bearings of climate change.
