What drew you to building a climate tech community in Singapore?
Climate tech founders are solving some of the hardest problems in the world, and they’re doing it under conditions that most startup playbooks simply weren’t written for. The businesses that succeed here have to be commercially sharp and mission-driven in equal measure. They’re navigating long sales cycles, complex stakeholder environments, and investors who don’t always understand why a 10-year deployment horizon is a feature, not a flaw. We started Better Earth Ventures because we wanted to change what support looks like for these founders, and Singapore, sitting at the centre of Asia’s energy, food and climate transition, felt like exactly the right place to do it.
What does your network actually open up for founders?
The conversations that are hardest to get on your own. Our team has spent years cultivating direct relationships with industry experts and decision-makers, and early-stage investors who genuinely understand the climate tech landscape. That means founders in our programme don’t just get introductions, they get honest, unfiltered insight into how industries actually work: what procurement really requires, where the appetite for new solutions exists, and what it takes to move from promising technology to commercial deployment.
