Icten:

What is your background?
I am a graduate of Industrial Engineering and I worked in international companies at the start of my professional career. Later, I joined an international consultancy company to improve companies operational and financial areas, as well as energy consumption plus business modelling and strategy.

Why did you become a country lead?
We share the same problems and obstacles as all European countries which are: limited sources and a need for clean technology. In order for Turkey to achieve these goals and bring out the clean tech potential, my country definitely needs to be a part of the ClimateLaunchpad programme. I joined Climatelaunchpad as a competitor last year and realized the value of this organization, therefore I wanted to be a national and help bring this organization to the Turkish platform.

Why do you think this competition is so important?
This competition takes out the passion, excitement and belief inside people. Plus, helps to learn what other entrepreneurs are doing right or wrong, to unlock their potential, and build a great network.

How does your organisation support cleantech start-ups?
Our team has strong communications, and individual partnerships with clean-tech and entrepreneurship supporting organizations. In addition we have access to international knowledge transfer partners which ensures the start-ups overcome future obstacles, make their dreams come true and enjoy what they’ve established.

Ertan:

What is your background?
I am an implementation consultant and an industrial engineer with an MBA degree who exploited multi sector experience from luxury service to construction industry within domestic and international companies

Why did you become a country lead?
We have participated to ClimateLaunchpad last year in Greece and were amused by the things we experienced and the network that we became the part of.

Why do you think this competition is so important?
Climate change awareness is rapidly growing in Turkey. We need more accelerators like ClimateLaunchpad to increase the awareness.

How does your organisation support cleantech start-ups?
The ClimateLaunchpad Turkey team consists of dedicated, young, former participants of ClimateLaunchpad. By the implementation at consultants our aim is to introduce ClimateLaunchpad to Turkey within our strong academic and professional careers. By introducing the CLP programme to our colleages future founders will find a platform for themselves.
