What is your background?

Claire is the Managing Director of Renewable Energy Business Incubator (REBi) Limited. Her main role is to establish strategic partnerships and mobilize resources for REBi sustainability. She is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization. She is a Certified Inclusive Business Advisor and has provided consultancy services to a number of renewable energy enterprises. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management and a Post-graduate Diploma in Financial Management. Claire is a Judge for business competitions for Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship students, a partnership program between Uganda Martrys University Nkozi and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, Italy. She was previously a business mentor on the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP).

Why did you become Country Leads?

REBi Limited nurtures renewable energy startups and provides business development services to micro, small and medium size enterprises (MSMEs). We also do skills development and pilot technologies.  We transform ideas and develop startups into operational businesses that provide clean energy products and services to communities. Our work aims at increasing clean energy access in communities, reducing adverse effects of climate change and poverty reduction.

Why do you think this competition is so important?

This competition provides business knowledge and skills to green entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into fully functional cleantech businesses.

How does your organisation support cleantech start-ups?

We provide business incubation services which include; idea development, prototype and product development, support to conduct market and feasibility studies, business and technical training, business plan development, coaching and mentoring, support to test their products and networking opportunities with industry players.
