In Pakistan, many households regularly suffer from the problems of over-billing and unproven bill deduction especially during summer season due to poor performance from our current billing and metering system. NEPRA has talked about this issue in their State of Industry Report 2019, where they stated that Distribution companies are involved in systematic manipulation of the electricity units to manage their distribution losses which are factually higher.
Our idea is an IoT-based electricity monitoring system that allows consumers to monitor their daily electricity unit consumption which can help them to become more efficient in their usage and minimize their electricity bills thus improving power sector’s energy conservation efforts.
