CannaRe

Up-cycling biomass wastes into value chemicals for the food & flavor industry

Pitch

CannaRe transforms liabilities into assets by converting high-volume biomass wastes into value chemicals for the food & flavor, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. Our current emphasis is on urban green wastes- trimmings of trees, shrubs and garden wastes produced within the city premises- due to their frequent and highly non-efficient disposal. On average, 20% of urban waste emissions consists of this waste stream, enhancing climate change, contaminate water and soil resources, and increase local air pollution. We developed a mobile thermo-chemical technology with low energy usage and zero by-products designated for on-site treatment. Its economics base on the resulting chemical feedstock, enabling us to offer both a cost-effective solution for waste treatment, and a valuable substitute for petrochemicals. Looking forward, we aim to expand operations to food processing and post-cultivation agricultural wastes streams and upcycle more value from various types of biomass.
