eTREE - Sustainable cleaning of atmospheric pollution

Pitch

Air pollution in form of particulate matter is an increasing environmental and public health
problem. According to WHO, 92% of the world’s population lives in places where air quality levels
exceed limits. In the European Union, the average life expectancy is estimated to be decreased
by 8.6 months, because of exposure to particulate matter. The World Health Organization
estimates the number of deaths caused by air pollution is up to 7 million per year, mostly
related to asthma, lung cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
We built a mechanical tree, that harvests renewable energy from the wind and the sun. The
eTREE creates off-grid electricity where it is needed and using a small part of the produced energy system to capture all tiny particles from the atmosphere. Our eTREE filters out 100% of particulate matter. Rest of energy is stored in the battery pack. eTREE is designed to scale up from small municipality use to mega cities size requirement around the world.
