Fornelia is a startup that specializes in solar cookers that also work at night. We have created a working prototype that has undergone a series of iterative improvements as a result of our tests. This solar cooker can generate up to 15KWh in a day, 4KWh of which can be stored in a heat accumulator that make night cooking with solar power possible. Each heat accumulator retains the heat for up to 8 hours, enough to cook a meal for a family of 10.
Currently, 2 billion people in the world depend on wood biomass for cooking. This corresponds to 6 million tons of wood and 10 Million tons of emitted CO2 per meal.
Our vision is to enable people to cook using solar energy even after sunset by setting up assembly lines of our solar cookers in at least 10 underdeveloped countries within the next 3 years.
