Fruit Pulpies

We are about value additon to minimise fruit loss and advocate for food security.

Pitch

Every fruit season there is mass fruit lost encountered across the country and farmers are the most affected. This result from fruit deterioration in terms of quality. The mother study behind the birth of fruit pulps showed us that out of 100% of mangoes exported to Dubai almost 60% are rejected as a result of poor qualities due to bruises on the fruit’s skin, overripening and damaging of the fruit etc. Thus we focus on trapping these mangoes from the farmers and processing them into pulp, a product of longer shelf life of approximately 5 years prior to exporting. This would also help in the securing the food for the future use in terms of when there are surplus mangoes in the market, the surplus is trapped and processed to a pulp for storage.
