We achieve this through manufacturing a low-carbon, lignocellulosic-based biomass known as the Woodie. The Woodie is made from organic waste materials such as alien invasive tree species and waste timber.
Woodies boasts a calorific range of 32 – 34 MJ/kg and an ash content of less than 1%. This makes Woodies the perfect sustainable alternative in decarbonising South Africa’s manufacturing sector by displacing A- and B-graded coal used in industrial boilers.
