Each year Europe wastes around 12 TWh of electricity by producing domestic hot water that isn’t used. This happens because the large majority of electric immersion heaters in use provide no indication of how much hot water is available to the user. As a result, people waste time and money as they heat their water more than necessary.
HOT is the solution for energy saving through hot water management. Consisting of a smart thermostat and a simple user interface, it can be retrofitted to any type of electric hot water storage heater. The interface allows the user to gauge how much hot water is in the tank at any moment, allowing them to use their system more efficiently. Moreover, HOT’s smart adaptive algorithm will learn when hot water is needed and provide an optimal heating schedule that meets the needs of the household and saves energy at the same time.
