It is a technique with many applications in small properties, allowing a more intensive production. It can be done in urban areas, and in places with serious restrictions on agriculture, such as very poor soils, arid regions, steep areas, among others. It has also been successfully used in social projects, which seek to rescue people’s dignity and improve their living conditions. Hydroponics has as its main advantages the saving of time and labor; the possibility of better scheduling production; the constant offer of products; no need for soil preparation operations for planting; better use of fertilizers; the non-use of agricultural machinery and implements and lighter work compared to soil cultivation.
