Repurposing oil tanks into sustainable, cost-effective energy storage systems.

Pitch

At Joulzen, we’re repurposing old oil tanks into intelligent, sustainable heat storage systems. Our solution allows homeowners to store surplus energy from solar panels or the grid, reducing energy waste and significantly lowering heating costs by at least €500 and up to over €3000 per year. By converting these tanks into thermal storage units, we not only prevent unnecessary waste but also offer a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional batteries, which can be up to 100 times more expensive. With heating and hot water accounting for 86% of a household’s energy consumption, our system optimizes energy use, bringing homeowners closer to energy self-sufficiency while cutting CO2 emissions. Joulzen’s innovative approach provides a scalable solution for the millions of households across Europe that are still using oil heating systems, supporting a transition to a more circular and sustainable energy future.
