Loki Geothermal

Developing expanding gate valves for high temperature geothermal wells

Pitch

Loki Geothermal is developing expanding gate valves for a niche market in the global geothermal sector. Currently, a large part of the equipment that is being used in geothermal power production has been adapted from the petroleum industry. This adapted equipment has been failing in operation, generating high risk, operational costs and revenue losses. Loki Geothermal is developing equipment that is more reliable, is safer to use and can cut operational costs for geothermal power production. This gives geothermal the competitive advantage to become a more active player in the field of electricity production. This has a great impact on the environment whereas a dry steam geothermal power plant prevents on average a yearly emission of around 890.000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide, compared to coal.
