Liquid air energy storage (LAES) has existed in concept for several decades, but its low round trip efficiency has limited it. MADA integrates LAES with gas turbines or engines (LAGT), MADA takes advantage of the high temperature of the gas turbine/engine waste heat to superheat the liquid air during discharge, improving higher round-trip efficiency for the LAES while at the same time taking utilizing the cold of the discharging liquid air to eliminate CO2 emissions from the power plant exhaust and, for gas turbines, to cool the air entering the gas turbine, increasing the output and efficiency of the gas turbine. This allows us to offer large scale (5MW-300MW), low cost long duration storage (8+ hours) that also removes 100% of CO2 from the emissions of gas-fired generation at minimal additional cost.
