Global food production systems are under a large amount of stress with the increase in demand for food. This challenge is only exacerbated by the effects of climate change.
We, at Manta, aim to tackle this problem by looking to one of the superfoods as the solution. Algae. This superfood contains more nutrients, protein and minerals, and grows nearly 30x faster than land-based plants.
Manta is a nature-inspired, clog-free algae harvesting system for algae farms to reduce the cost and improve the energy efficiency of algae harvesting. This is in hopes of increasing the rate of algae production to combat food security and reducing the barriers to entry into the algae market in emerging economies.
With Manta, we aim to disrupt and revolutionise the food industry, turning superfood into common food.
