Pitch
Business activity includes a vertically integrated production unit of organic Greek herbs, such as mountain tea, oregano, sage etc, a micropropagation laboratory and the creation of a group of farmers. We would like to help farmers to cultivate Greek herbs through giving them the appropriate herbal material and the right economic motivation to do so. The idea covers the entire production cycle, creating economies of scale and reducing the environmental footprint. We are trying to solve two main problems; lack of Greek herbal material and cultivation of thousands of herbs per acre in sort period. Company applies micropropagation. Herbs are propagated by growing small parts in tissue culture and then planting them out in thousands and even faster than traditional methods. There is a positive environmental and socioeconomic impact, by offering new jobs, strengthening farmers’ income, protecting biodiversity and supporting other parallel activities such as beekeeping.
