Passback

Creating a circular economy for sports, starting by upcycling soccer gear.

Pitch

The United Nations has reported that the global sports sector is responsible for emissions equivalent to those of a medium-sized country. A top 3 contributor to this is the carbon footprint the supply chains generate for sports-related equipment. Specifically, 170 million pairs of athletic shoes wind up in a landfill in the U.S. annually; meanwhile, millions worldwide do not have access to play.

Introducing Passback: Where Sports Meets Sustainability. We are a reuse and recycling solution that creates a circular economy for sports gear – starting by upcycling soccer gear.

Passback’s innovative reuse and recycling process provides:
-Sustainability by keeping plastic and textile waste out of landfills.
-Community education about the intersectionality between our actions in sports and its impact on the environment.
-Basic-need opportunities such as safe play, injury prevention, and economic development.
