Pitch
Our aim is to produce fuel and grill briquette from raspberry biological waste, and correspondingly engage local population in collecting such waste.
Briquettes are cheap, and they burn longer than wood.
Wood is the main heating source in the western Serbia, which leads to deforestation in this region.
Forest area has decreased by 20% in the last 10 years.
Production of briquette does not include timber – which is an obvious advantage.
Economically speaking, usage of biomass for production of briquette that can be used for thermo-energetic purposes is the most cost-effective source of renewable energy.
Until now, hundreds of tons of dried pruned canes have usually been burned beside raspberry patches or next to local roads, or thrown into brooks and watercourses, thus increasing the emission of CO2.
-The idea is to use the available biomass for production of fuel and grill briquette.
