Sweet Circular Refinery

Preservation of sugars in biomass, ethanol, biogas, organic fertilizer

Integrated process for biorefining sugar yielding plants (sweet sorghum) to produce biofuels and other chemical building bloks. Biorefinery consists of preservation of sugars by aditivate ensilage of freshly harvested sugar containing biomass, extraction of sugars, followed by fermentation of sugars to produce ethanol, hydrolysis without pretreatment of lignocellulose, obtaining ethanol from cellulosic hydrolysate and anaerobic digestion of residues resulted from the fermentation and hydrolysis steps to produce biogas and organic fertilizer.
