When engine is cold emission control technologies do not work to their full potential.
Engine and gearbox lubricants are also cold and more viscous, resulting in higher fuel
consumption and greater emissions, and limiting their protection against wear. In cold
climate these challenges are even more significant. Phase change material has ability to
store heat energy that is captured during driving cycle. The heat energy stored can
subsequently reduce the time it takes for engine to fully warm up and car pre-heat engine
fluids resulting in reduced emissions and wear.
