In WasteAway we believe that every resource that ends up in a garbage bin is a wasted resource. We want to reduce the usage of single-use plastic with a reusable food container system.
Our market is restaurants that sell takeaway food. We, WasteAway, sell rental reusable food containers to restaurant clients for 2,5€ per container. By using our system, only with our beachhead market (Tallinn), we save over 9 million single-use food containers amount of trash. Our service is based on the circular economy. Our clients will purchase food from a restaurant with our lunch box and pay a deposit for it. After eating, the box can be returned to our reverse vending machine and the customer gets back the amount of deposit money. We collect boxes from vending machines, clean them and return them back to restaurants.
