youthinkgreen Egypt is excited to be organizing Climatelaunchpad competition for the sixthabdelrahmanfahmy time in Egypt in a row!

Youthinkgreen Egypt has been active since 2013 focusing on fostering Sustainability & Entrepreneurship among the youth sector via our educational programs and events, pushing hundreds of entrepreneurs on the innovation road to create clean solutions to challenges in renewable energy, energy management, water sustainability, waste management, and Water Energy Food Nexus.

 

The competition phases start with submitting ideas through the online application form, the selected applicants will join our Bootcamp and follow-up coaching sessions, and following this, applicants will pitch in front of a National Jury in the National Finals. The top three applicants will be qualified for the Regional finals and International finals. 

In 2024, our first winner was Energetic, Energetic aims to address Egypt’s pollution and energy issues by developing innovative renewable energy solutions, including solar and wind energy, as well as green hydrogen production. Energetic focuses on creating integrated hybrid systems that combine various renewable energy sources to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact. The company’s primary goal is to provide sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable energy solutions for homes, farms, highways, hotels, and electric vehicles. Energetic also emphasizes the importance of developing complementary technologies such as battery storage and advanced monitoring systems. With a commitment to sustainability and innovation, Energetic is dedicated to reducing carbon footprints, supporting the adoption of electric vehicles, and contributing to the overall energy independence of Egypt.

Our second winner was VertechX, an innovative solution tackling water waste, resource inefficiency, and limited agricultural land through a state-of-the-art smart vertical farming greenhouse. By combining IoT, AI, and vertical farming techniques, VerTechX maximizes crop yield and quality while reducing water and energy use. Its advanced system uses sensors and AI-driven monitoring to maintain optimal crop environments, offering precise water management and eliminating pesticide use by creating a controlled, multi-layered planting structure. VerTechX is designed to support sustainable agriculture by increasing productivity, improving profitability, and enabling year-round crop production. This solution empowers landowners and agricultural engineers to meet the rising demand for fresh produce and offers research data for further innovation.

Finally, Go Green, ClimateLaunchpad 2024 third winner, The idea was an Autonomous boat that moves in undisturbed water surfaces (minor disturbances are okay such as in rivers and in red sea). The boat is programmed in a way that it just needs start and end point and the area that will be cleared.
