UPWIND

UPWIND - Providing clean, portable, and affordable electricity for all, anywhere

Pitch

The electricity grid is still unavailable, unreliable or insufficient in many locations, both in developing and developed countries. Examples are locations with temporary or emerging needs (construction sites, mines and quarries, events, disasters, or vehicle charging stations) as well as remote communities (isolated or rural settlements). Diesel or petrol generators are currently the only answer these sites have for power supply. However, such solutions, besides being highly pollutant, require a regular supply of costly fuel to regions that may be difficult to access.
The UPWIND solution is a portable, easily deployable generator for electricity production based on wind energy, consisting of an airborne device connected to a ground station via a tether. The widespread use of our solution will certainly contribute to the energy transition.
The UPWIND clean generator, unlike diesel generators, provides a green alternative that does not require refuelling and has great cost savings.
